Approving YouTube channels

Kivvie starts empty. Your child sees nothing until you approve a channel. You approve channels from the parent dashboard, and each child profile has its own separate list.

Approve a channel

On the dashboard, open a child profile and search for a YouTube channel by name. Any public YouTube channel can be approved; there is no pre-approved library. Select the channel to add it to that child's list. It appears in the child app within seconds.

To remove a channel, open the child's channel list and remove it. The child immediately loses access to that channel's videos.

Different channels for different children

Each child profile has its own approved-channel list. A ten-year-old can have science and documentary channels while a five-year-old only has Sesame Street and StoryBots. You manage every profile from the same dashboard.

Channel packs

Channel packs are bundles of channels grouped by age, interest, or subject, such as Learning, STEM, Creative, or Entertainment. Instead of adding channels one by one, install a pack to add several parent-recommended channels at once. Packs are community-recommended, not sponsored, and you can remove individual channels after installing one.

What your child sees

Only full-length videos from approved channels. There are no Shorts, no comments, no recommendations, and no autoplay to unrelated videos. If you did not approve it, your child cannot see it.
